MATTHIAS BRÖDE TRIO

MATTHIAS BRÖDE is a German harmonica player, pianist, improviser and composer based in Berlin.He is performing and recording in Contemporary Jazz as well as in Improvised Music settings and also enjoys to play “Straight Jazz” occasionally, which is the music he grew up with.

Especially on harmonica his constant search for new sounds & his wide range of stiles distinguish him a lot from other players.

MATTHIAS BRÖDE IS THE WINNER OF THE WDR JAZZ AWARD 2013 IN THE IMPROVISATION CATEGORY.

This award – one of the most important jazz awards in Europe - is given by the West German Public Radio (WDR) and is selcted during a “Blindfold Listening” by an international jury of musicians and journalist.

At the "JazzMan Club" in Barcelona this Trio will play a number of handselected wellknown Jazz tunes from Thelonious Monk, Miles Davis, Wayne Shorter and others as well as some songs from the "Great Amarican Songbook".
